Amanda Eisenberg

Amanda Eisenberg is an adjunct professor at NYU and the editor of Healthcare Brew, a b2b vertical and newsletter at Morning Brew. She previously served as Politico’s New York City health care reporter, where she covered Covid-19 from the frontlines and the 2021 mayoral race. Her writing can also be found in the Washington Post, InStyle and The Associated Press. Originally from the city suburbs, Amanda now lives in Manhattan with her bookcases. She’s working on her first novel.

Joelle Kirsch is an avid television watcher who loves munching on Trader Joe’s Banana Bread while crying to The Bachelor. As an aspiring entertainment Journalist, she definitely “Keeps Up With The Kardashians” … and all other celebrities and influencers. As a freshman at NYU, she loves roaming the streets of NYC with Taylor Swift blasting in her headphones and stalking her campus celebrities.

Brooke Miliote likes to write about where her money goes: film, television, and fashion. When she’s not writing, she’s enjoying having a parasocial relationship with Beyoncé and devouring a bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich. Her greatest joy is finding stray cats when she’s traveling and trying foods she knows she’s going to hate.

Graylin Lucas has two great loves: writing and politics. As a student journalist and Washington Square News reporter, she covers local politics and goings-on around Greenwich Village. A Seattleite at heart, Graylin is always looking for a good cup of coffee. You can catch her reading The New Yorker in Washington Square Park or running along the Hudson.

Pritheva Zaharia is a rising junior at New York University studying Journalism and English. She's a staff writer for WSN, and her work can also be found in NYU's clubs Generasian and the West 10th Review. She's passionate about South Asian representation, tacos, Olivia Rodrigo, and exploring NYC. Since she's from Long Island, NY, which means she will die on the hill of saying "on line" instead of "in line."

Kate Erblich is a rising junior majoring in Journalism and Politics who can be found petting the dogs of NYC when she is not in yoga, getting a sweet treat, online shopping, or meandering around the city, (oh, or in class ofc). Hailing all the way from Phoenix, Arizona, this homebody loves all things fashion, graphic design, and baking.

Aashna Miharia is a journalism and public policy student from the Boston area. She’s a Deputy News Editor for the Washington Square News and a novelist, Dunkin’ enthusiast and lover of independent bookstores. When she’s not writing, you can usually find her listening to an audiobook while wandering around the city (completely and totally sure of exactly where she’s going, of course).

Spencer Meyers is a philosophy and journalism student from New York City. After founding his high school’s first video journalism club, Spencer went on to work in a local newsroom in Cape Town, South Africa during a gap year. Nowadays you can find Spencer walking his pup Jerry around NYC.

As a Journalism and Food Studies student, Lauren Ng is happiest when she’s writing, eating or writing about what she’s eating. An NYU first-year from Los Angeles, Lauren is a staff writer for Washington Square News and an intern at Local Roots NYC. When she’s not checking her email, you can find Lauren trying new restaurants, binging sitcoms or playing New York Times word games.

Griffin Eckstein is a second-year student at NYU studying Journalism, Politics, and Social and Public Policy. He's interested in politics and metro New York news, and has published clips in the New York Post and Washington Square News. In his free time, he loves going to concerts and lining up for free pop-ups and events in the city. Griffin has attended 3 live tapings of SNL.

Essence Johnson

Essence Johnson is a drama major, journalism minor, and born and raised New Yorker. When she isn’t running lines or chasing after the A train, she’s something of a self-proclaimed critic. Her most frequent criticisms are often about music, film, food, and social justice policies. She has a long history in DEI work and frequents museums and theaters to see new art. Above all, she is a Dr. Pepper enthusiast and a die-hard concert lover.
